For the last 16 years, Adam Loosley toured to over 35 different countries with Disney On Ice.
But in 2020, the COVID 19 Pandemic brought the live entertainment industry to a screeching halt and Adam’s world traveling was brought to a pause.
To re-set and figure out his next move, Adam moved in with his brother’s family.
After living on the road for so long, Adam was grateful for the opportunity to spend time with his family and especially his niece Keira and two nephews, Casen and Kesler. He would read them books every night, but was continually disappointed with their bedtime books that lacked a meaningful and lasting message.
Looking for a creative outlet in a rather grim time, Adam saw an opportunity for an inspiring children’s book.
In brainstorming ideas for the book, Adam was reminded of the LIVE A GREAT STORY message that he had seen years ago at a night market in New Orleans, a message that continued to inspire his own story.
After reaching out to his long time, talented artist friend Daniel Henke, who had also recently lost his job with Cirque du Soleil, they began collaborating on a children's book inspired by LIVE A GREAT STORY and the boundless imaginations of his niece and nephews, and dedicated it to all those in the Entertainment Industry that were negatively affected, shaken-up and displaced by the Pandemic.
The resulting 'quarantine creation' evolved into a book called, 'YOU, Are A Great Story!’
In this page-turning, choose-your-own-adventure book, children ages three to ten will use their imaginations to explore the key elements of really great stories.
As they join in on the search for the perfect bedtime story, children will answer interactive questions and visit favorite places like Grandma and Grandpa’s, the beach, an ice show, and even the moon!
YOU, Are a Great Story! empowers children to celebrate and create their own great stories each and every day!
Adam and Daniel hope this book encourages everyone to stay creative, to stay positive and to remain the author of their own new adventures to come.
